The product inspiration came from the second word of the Japanese “Gojira”, which is also known as Godzilla in that language. As told by the source, the term “Bugzilla” was taken from a slang term employed by Atlassian developers to refer to the bug-tracking software that was previously used within the company.
Jira Software is a crucial tool for task management. A task planner and bug and issue tracker were the initial purposes for creation.
